Tips for reducing your website bounce rate

Here are some useful tips to avoid unpleasant situations in the future:

Provide relevant content

When readers expect one thing and get something else, you have a “bounce.” And your content is probably one of the biggest offenders in this scenario. Start by evaluating your content and analyzing whether it’s a good fit for your target market. What does that mean? Look closely at the expectations you’ve set through your SEO strategy: keywords, meta descriptions (or metadata), and titles provide all the context for what the reader is going to get. Make sure the elements on your site for each paragraph or page of content are coordinated so that readers know what to expect.

If users don’t take any action on your page other than clicking an exit link, Google Analytics considers that action a “bounce.” Now, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
